Management School Heads to France for Spring Break Study Abroad
Building on last year’s fruitful trip to Germany, NJIT’s Martin Tuchman School of Management (MTSM), in collaboration with the university’s Office of Global Initiatives, is again offering a faculty-led study abroad trip during Spring Break — this time to Lyon, France, in March 2020. Students will learn about international marketing principles through visits with French companies, including JP Riviere Winery and Groupe SEB, and lectures at ESDES, the business school of UCLy — Lyon Catholic University.

Entrepreneur Society Visits 10 Burgeoning Businesses in a Single Day
They headed out at 8 a.m. on a Friday in September for a whirlwind excursion of Manhattan-based startups, accelerators, incubators and venture capital firms. And after traversing the city, between midtown and downtown, they returned to NJIT at day’s end with a firsthand view and better understanding of the world of entrepreneurship.

Aseng, Chamberlain Lead Women's Soccer To 2-1 Win Over UNA
For the first time since joining the ASUN Conference in 2015, the NJIT women's soccer team has begun league play with a 2-0 record. The Highlanders held off the North Alabama Lions, 2-1, to improve to 5-3-2 on the season and earn back-to-back ASUN victories to open conference play.

NJIT Planned Its First Computer Lab 65 Years Ago, Used for Dissertations
There were no digital computers at NJIT, known as Newark College of Engineering, in 1960. This was not a unique situation. Most computers in 1960 were room-sized beasts performing logic through vacuum tubes. A few companies made smaller machines, when small was a relative term meaning something about the size of a Mini Cooper.

Honors Faculty Fellows Program Doubles Its Offerings in Year 2
A unique program that packages distinctive coursework with diverse experiences, by connecting NJIT students and faculty with leading corporations, governmental agencies and private donors, has expanded as it heads into its second year. Honors Faculty Fellows will feature twice as many classes and three additional Fellows during the Spring 2020 semester, all made possible by generous gifts to the university’s Albert Dorman Honors College (ADHC), which administers the program.

NJIT Features Prominent Female Artists in New Exhibition
The J. Robert and Barbara A. Hillier College of Architecture and Design (HCAD) gallery at NJIT is honored to present an exhibition of twelve prominent female artists. Six hail from the East Coast and six are from the West. Exhibition co-curators Matthew Gosser and Gail Enns selected artists whose work deals with the idea of domesticity in several ways. The first is in subject matter and how particular content or imagery speaks to domestic issues or themes.

NJIT is Number 2 on College Factual's List of Best Civil Engineering Programs Nationwide
For the second year in a row, the Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) program at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is ranked number two in the nation by College Factual, a data analytics and research company that focuses on outcomes. Only Georgia Tech is ranked higher on the list of 206 programs evaluated, while MIT is third.

Women's Soccer and LIU Play To 1-1 Draw
NJIT Women's Soccer pushed its current unbeaten streak to four games with a 1-1 draw against the LIU Sharks Friday evening at NYIT's President's Stadium. The match was the first for NJIT (3-2-2) against the recently rebranded Sharks, who combined their Division I Brooklyn and Division II Post campuses this year. NJIT found itself down a score early (3') after LIU (1-4-1) cleaned up a rebounded shot and netted only their second goal of the year.

NJIT researchers received an $849,024 National Science Foundation grant to help invent ways of taming the wilderness that is online content moderation. NJIT @JerseyCity welcomed its first students on September 3, 2019. With the start of the fall semester, dozens of students embarked on graduate-level academic programs in data science at NJIT’s new location, just steps from the Exchange Place PATH station in the Waterfront district of Jersey City.
