Management School Heads to France for Spring Break Study Abroad
Building on last year’s fruitful trip to Germany, NJIT’s Martin Tuchman School of Management (MTSM), in collaboration with the university’s Office of Global Initiatives, is again offering a faculty-led study abroad trip during Spring Break — this time to Lyon, France, in March 2020. Students will learn about international marketing principles through visits with French companies, including JP Riviere Winery and Groupe SEB, and lectures at ESDES, the business school of UCLy — Lyon Catholic University. Additionally, they will attend such cultural outings as a tour of Old Town Lyon and a cruise on the Saône River.
The trip, part of the MRKT485 class for undergraduates and MRKT725 for graduate students, is open to business majors and minors only, and participants will earn three credits. The application deadline is Nov. 5; space is limited to 15 students.
“Our first faculty-led study abroad trip was so successful in giving students a firsthand look at international business/marketing practices and experiencing international culture that MTSM looks forward to doing the same with this trip,” said Melodi Guilbault, senior university lecturer and director of student engagement and success at MTSM, who teaches the required marketing courses and will accompany the students.
