NJIT Breaks Top 50 for ROI in Payscale Rankings
PayScale has released their College ROI Report: Best Value Colleges for 2018 and once again NJIT has ranked among the top in terms of colleges that have a high return on their tuition dollars. NJIT ranked twice in the top 50 of the Best Value Colleges list: #35 for in-state and #49 for out-of-state. The report, which measures the return on tuition investment 20 years after graduation, provides median earnings data of workers who attended college versus earnings data of individuals who went straight into the work force.

Pathway to the Future: Annual Scholarship Brunch Turns 30
Four and a half years ago, Dylan Renaud was a senior in high school unsure about a lot of things, in particular about how — even if — he could attend a four-year college. Growing up in a family of six boys, he knew there were things he could always count on his parents for — such as bandaging up a bleeding forehead from a sibling fight — but there were other things that he understood he could not rely on them for. Paying for college was one of them.

NJIT Student's Business Venture Is Going Swimmingly
When Mark Quiles, a Martin Tuchman School of Management (MTSM) finance and marketing major, graduates this December, he will continue full time on an entrepreneurial path that has already won him accolades. In 2016, Quiles launched League of Lifeguards, a company dedicated to improving water safety by recruiting and certifying lifeguards and matching them with jobs at pools, parties and other places and events involving swimming. He says League of Lifeguards has been able to protect more than 10,000 lives to date.

NJIT Undergraduate Amir Elzomor Publishes Acclaimed Guide to the World of Heart Genomics
Since the Human Genome Project was completed in 2003, the race toward the next era of patient care — genomic medicine — was on. However, advances in being able to treat patients based on their genetic information have also reshaped the training needed for nearly three million nurses in the U.S., who now require deeper working knowledge of cardiovascular genetics and cutting-edge diagnostic technology, in addition to the traditional medical skills they routinely apply on the hospital floor.

Why Does the Corona Sizzle at 1 Million °F? NJIT's Gregory Fleishman is Unearthing Clues
The Sun’s corona, invisible to the human eye except when it appears briefly as a fiery halo of plasma during a solar eclipse, remains a puzzle even to scientists who study it closely. Beginning 1,300 miles from the star’s surface and extending millions more in every direction, it is more than a hundred times hotter than lower layers much closer to the fusion reactor at the Sun’s core.

Amanda Helminsky and Mayar Eltony Named to 2018 ASUN Women's Tennis Second-Team All-Conference
NJIT women's tennis players Amanda Helminsky and Mayar Eltony were named to the 2018 ASUN Second-Team All-Conference the league office announced on the eve of the ASUN Women's Tennis Tournament. Eltony, a 2017 ASUN All-Freshmen Team and first-team honoree, tabs second-team honors at No. 2 singles while Helminsky posts her first postseason award at No. 5 singles.
