'Workforce Ready' NJIT Engineering Student's Summer Internship Fits to a Tea
Industrial engineering student Bianca Hernandez wrapped up her internship at AriZona Beverage Co., putting forth all the skills and knowledge she has acquired at NJIT. “Since being there, it's been a really great experience,” said Hernandez, who minors in safety engineering. “Everyone was very welcoming, and this may seem very rare in terms of internships, but the people that I work with daily, they view me more as a coworker rather than an intern.

227 Highlanders Named to America East Academic Honor Roll
An impressive 227 NJIT student-athletes who competed during the 2023-24 school year earned America East Academic Honor Roll recognition, the conference announced on Friday. The Highlanders had 21 more student-athletes earn this honor compared to 2023. Student-athletes from the men's and women's soccer teams, men's and women's basketball teams, women's volleyball, baseball, men's lacrosse, men's and women's track and field/cross country, and men's swimming and diving teams who posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher were named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.

New Jersey Institute of Technology has been awarded on the Forbes list of America’s Best-In-State Employers 2024. This accolade is presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., the leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. America's Best-In-State Employers 2024 have been identified in an independent survey from a vast sample of over 160,000 employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the U.S. The ranking is open to companies from all industry sectors.

NJIT Names Sandy Curko as General Counsel and Vice President of Legal Affairs
New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) has appointed Sandy A. Curko as the new general counsel and vice president of legal affairs. Curko brings over 25 years of extensive legal experience, having represented corporate entities and educational institutions throughout her career in various legal and regulatory matters. Curko will start Oct. 2, 2024.

DAAD Scholarship Recipient
Melisa Bilgili, a junior in NJIT's Chemical and Materials Engineering Department, won a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship under the DAAD Research Internship in Science and Engineering (RISE) program. 2,358 North American, British and Irish students applied for 320 scholarships.

New Jersey Institute of Technology has announced the renaming of its College of Science and Liberal Arts to the Jordan Hu College of Science and Liberal Arts (JHCSLA) in recognition of a historic gift from Jordan Hu ’89, founder and chief executive officer of RiskVal Financial Solutions, LLC and a former member of the university’s Board of Trustees.

Muhaiminul Islam Akash - ECE PhD Student of the Month - August 2024
Muhaiminul Islam Akash has completed his first year as a Ph.D. candidate in the ECE Department at NJIT, being advised by Dr. Cong Wang. His research focuses on robot physical intelligence, AI-robot bridgeware for task and motion planning, crowdsourced machine learning, and robot teleoperation. Beyond his academic pursuits, he enjoys traveling and finds peace in natural landscapes.

NJIT's President Joins Business Association Board
New Jersey Institute of Technology President Teik C. Lim has joined the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, as the association expands its board. Lim is among three new trustees; the other two are Gary Fisch, founder and CEO of Gary’s Wine and Marketplace and Sarah Switlik, chief operating officer of Switlik Survival Products.
