NJIT PhD Researcher Develops Secure Code Generation System, Achieves Early Conference Acceptance
Research from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) addresses a critical issue in AI-powered code generation: the prevalence of security vulnerabilities. Ph.D. student Khiem Ton and his colleagues have developed SGCode, a system that combines advanced AI techniques with security analysis tools to detect and fix potential security flaws as code is being created.

Men's Tennis Honored by Board of Trustees for Historic Season
NJIT President Teik C. Lim and the NJIT Board of Trustees recognized the NJIT men's tennis team on Thursday, Sep. 19, inside the Central King Building for the Highlanders' historic 2023 season, which culminated in a Southland Conference championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

NJIT Ranks No. 84, Continues Rise in US News and World Report National Rankings
New Jersey Institute of Technology’s standing in national rankings continues to rise with U.S. News & World Report placing NJIT No. 84 among U.S. universities — improving two places from last year — in the 2025 edition of its Best Colleges list. The latest ranking extends NJIT’s upward trajectory — climbing 19 spots since 2022 — and supports the findings of other publications that rank U.S. universities, which emphasize value and return on investment.

Men's Cross County Win 8K, Women's Finish Third in 6K at Jasper Fall XC Invitational
The NJIT men's cross country team won the men's 8K with 26 points, while the women finished third in the 6K with 66 points at the Jasper Fall XC Invitational on Saturday at Twin Ponds on the Farm.

NJIT Devotes Over $10 Million in New Funds for Push in Artificial Intelligence
New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is launching a new, $10+ million initiative that will significantly advance the university’s strength in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and position NJIT to become a leader in both AI research and application in higher education. This augments already significant existing academic and research activity in AI and related programs. In 2023 alone, NJIT research related to AI totaled nearly $60 million.

NJIT Celebrates Historic Renaming of College of Science and Liberal Arts
NJIT commemorated the official naming of the Jordan Hu College of Science and Liberal Arts, honoring a historic gift recently made by alumnus Jordan Hu '89, founder and CEO of RiskVal Financial Solutions, LLC. The New Neighbor to NJIT's Food Pantry? A Career Closet
Responding to a student need, New Jersey Institute of Technology has opened a Career Closet that supplies free dress clothes, shoes and accessories for interviews, internships or jobs. The closet, on the fourth floor of the Campus Center, also offers seasonal and casual clothes for campus residents and commuters. It’s connected to a revamped Food Pantry that has everything from canned and boxed foods to produce and toiletries.

Pan Xu Has Two Papers Accepted to Highly Competitive ICML Conference in Vienna, Austria
Assistant Professor Pan Xu in the Department of Computer Science has been honored with having two of his papers selected by the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML), one of three primary conferences of high impact in machine learning and artificial intelligence. The co- authored paper on Promoting External and Internal Equities Under Ex-Ante/Ex-Post Metrics in Online Resource Allocation was one of only 3.5% accepted in the highly competitive Spotlight category.
