Men's Cross County Win 8K, Women's Finish Third in 6K at Jasper Fall XC Invitational

The NJIT men's cross country team won the men's 8K with 26 points, while the women finished third in the 6K with 66 points at the Jasper Fall XC Invitational on Saturday at Twin Ponds on the Farm.
William Mitchell led the NJIT men with an 8K time of 27:14.6 to finish second. Daniel Wilson placed third with a personal-best 8K time of 27:33.3, and Joseph Mucci recorded an 8K time of 27:47.7, finishing fourth. Fabian Herrera (8th / 28:27.9) and Younes Abada (9th / 28:32.0) earned top-10 finishes to round out the scoring for the Highlanders.
For the NJIT women, Nadia Zhecheva finished sixth with a 6K time of 25:32.8. Jenna Keith posted a 6K time of 26:23.9 to place ninth and Julia Canonaco finished tenth with a personal-best 6K time of 26:24.4. Delahni Shaw (16th / 27:29.4) and Ava Zimliki (28th / 29:59.5) rounded out the scoring for NJIT.

After a two-week break, NJIT will travel to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the Paul Short Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
