Women's Tennis Wraps Up Play at West Point Invite

Highlanders duo Laura Wipfli and Irene Cocero combined for a 5-0 record at court one doubles over the weekend as the NJIT women's tennis team competed at the West Point Invite.

The three-day event was hosted by Army West Point with singles and doubles matches both inside the Malaek and Lichtenberg Tennis Center.

From the Coach
"It was a good weekend of match play for the NJIT women," head coach Patricia Piorkowski McDonald added postgame. "Laura and Irene continue to win at court 1 doubles. I am impressed with their ability to cover the court and communicate. Individually, they bring different styles of play to the court, and the combination of aggressive play and creative shot making is tough to beat. I'm looking forward to watching the pair compete in regionals and the Southland Conference individual championships."
