NJIT Architecture Teams Win Princeton Sukkah Design Contest
Jose Merino’s hands may never be this callused again. He’s leading one of two teams of NJIT architecture students to design and construct a 10x10 wooden hut called a “Sukkah” in rabinic tradition, for a design competition in Princeton later this month called “Sukkah Village 2021.” “I’ve always wanted to do a design competition that involved us actually building it,” said Merino of his team’s project, “A Windowed Sukkah.” The design team includes Daniela Liberato and Albert Dorman Honors Scholars, Claudia AbouDiwan, and Silas McBride.

This NJIT Alumna Is Building the Case for Forensic Science Talent in Newark Schools
It wasn’t more than a few months after she graduated with a biology degree in May of 2016 that NJIT alumna Pamela Carman swapped the university’s labs and lecture halls for a classroom all her own, just minutes from campus at Newark’s East Side High School. Since then, Carman has become the driving force behind an up-and-coming curriculum that is training the city’s high school seniors in the latest investigative techniques used by professional forensic scientists. Already, she’s earned award-winning success along the way.

Women's Soccer Dominates Saint Peter's In 6-0 Shutout
It was only a matter of time. The NJIT women's soccer team, looking for back-to-back wins after a tough four-game opening stretch for its offense, put together a performance for the Highlander record books in a dominant 6-0 victory over the Saint Peter's Peacocks Saturday afternoon at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.

NJIT Featured in The Princeton Review's 'Best 387 Colleges' Guide for 2022
At NJIT, students are “learning on an ivy league level,” getting “practical career-focused education” at “a fairly affordable price.” - The Princeton Review New Jersey Institute of Technology has again been named a top college according to The Princeton Review in its 30th edition of its college guide, "The Best 387 Colleges," a designation earned by only about 14% of America’s four-year colleges. NJIT also received honors as a top college in the Northeast region and a Best Value college.

New Jersey Institute of Technology leads U.S. universities in teaching programming languages, according to a new survey by HackerRank, which sells products to help human resources departments evaluate software developers.

NJIT's Xu is Developing a Timed-Release mRNA Vaccine with an Extended Shelf Life
Xiaoyang Xu, a chemical and materials engineer at NJIT who specializes in nanomedicines, has secured a $1 million award from the Gustavus and Louise Pfeiffer Research Foundation to develop the next generation of messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines. Xu’s immediate goal is to improve protections against COVID-19. He is designing a nano-sized delivery vehicle for gene-based medications that can be stored much longer and at higher temperatures than the current mRNA shots deployed against the virus, including by freeze-drying.

Pair of Goals by White Leads NJIT Past FDU in Season Opener

NJIT faculty and staff celebrated a full return to campus Aug. 25 at a “Welcome to Campus Reception” held at the Campus Center Terrace and Highlander Pub. Marco Matteucci Tabbed as NJIT Men's Tennis Head Coach
Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Lenny Kaplan has announced the hiring of Marco Matteucci as NJIT's next Head Coach for men's tennis. Matteucci replaces former Head Coach Ira Miller, who recently stepped down following seven seasons in charge of the Highlanders' program.
