NJIT Researchers Awarded $4.6M to Unlock Mysteries of Solar Eruptions
National Science Foundation (NSF) awards five-year grant support for Big Bear Solar Observatory research through the maximum of Solar Cycle 25, when the Sun’s explosive activity is expected to peak. A New Jersey Institute of Technology research team led by physics professor Wenda Cao at the university’s Center for Solar Terrestrial Research (CSTR) has been awarded a $4.64 million National Science Foundation grant to continue leading explorations of the Sun’s explosive activity at Big Bear Solar Observatory (BBSO).

Senior Success: Kristen Mogerman Lands Fiserv Role After Internship with DOJ's Violent Crime Squad
Like any talented forensic science student would, Kristen Mogerman ’23 has been using her sharp analytical skills to unlock one opportunity after the next — from an internship with the U.S. Department of Justice assisting its regional violent crime squad, to her post-graduation destination as a credit and risk analyst with Fiserv. Mogerman has wrapped up a unique internship experience during commencement week. When she wasn’t in NJIT classrooms and forensics labs her senior year, she’s been stationed with a Newark-based task force working on federal criminal cases.

La fascinante historia de Erick Mejía sigue acumulando éxitos, ya que el diseñador digital ecuatoriano será el primero en su familia en graduarse de la universidad. Sin olvidar nunca sus raíces, Mejía busca formas de incluir su amor por su cultura y país a través de sus obras. “Me mudé aquí en 2011, sabiendo poco de inglés, casi nada. Extrañaba mi casa todos los días, extrañaba Ecuador y su naturaleza”, dijo Mejía. “Aquí no hay mucha naturaleza, tenemos la ciudad, así que venir a la ciudad fue un gran cambio”.

NJIT and Fulbright University, Vietnam Partner in Master's Pathway Program
The increasing interest in NJIT’s Ying Wu College of Computing (YWCC) as an educational destination for Vietnamese students has inspired a partnership between NJIT and Fulbright University, Vietnam (FUV). The partnership will offer FUV undergraduate students a unique opportunity for a U.S. educational experience in the global tech hub of the New York metro region, and credit towards an accelerated master’s degree.

NJIT Master's and Doctoral Graduates Encouraged to Look Beyond Their Degrees at 2023 Commencement
New Jersey Institute of Technology served up waves of fanfare as its advanced degree graduates walked across the stage in the Wellness and Events Center in three commencement ceremonies on May 16. The 2023 class, composed of more than 1,300 graduates, is the largest in five years and reflects the larger growth and upward trajectory of the institution.

Senior Success: Architect Nikole Marin Celebrates Earning a Dual Degree and a Job at DMR Architects
It all started in sixth grade. Nikole Marin ’23 needed to select what she wanted to study for a class and because she didn’t want to go through the long list of choices, she selected among the first ones in the “A” section. Ultimately, that quick selection has led her to achieving two degrees from NJIT – Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Science in Architecture. “I love working with building blocks, I love to draw, I love to design and create spaces ever since I was a little girl,” said Marin. “So I decided that I wanted to pursue that from the sixth grade.”

NJBIZ recognized two professors from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a division of the university’s New Jersey Innovation Institute in its latest lists of Healthcare Heroes. NJIT Scholar Will Develop Software While Pursuing a Master's in Cybersecurity
In her second year at New Jersey Institute of Technology, Samantha Augustin made the difficult decision to switch majors. Biomedical engineering gave way to computer engineering, and now Augustin is poised to pursue a master’s in cybersecurity at New York University. But without the help of an academic advisor “who patiently explained how to do it and helped me transfer and organize my courses,” the major switch could have set her back.
