NJIT Names Grant Billmeier as Head Coach of Men's Basketball
New Jersey Institute of Technology has named Grant Billmeier as its new men's basketball head coach, Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Lenny Kaplan announced.

4 Leaders from NJIT Named Higher Ed Influencers by ROI-NJ
The business publication ROI-NJ recognized four leaders at New Jersey Institute of Technology in its annual lists of higher education influencers, including President Teik C. Lim. Lim made a list of presidents of New Jersey universities and colleges and the others — Martin Tuchman School of Management Dean Oya Tukel, Albert Dorman Honors College Dean Louis Hamilton and Leir Research Institute for Business, Technology and Society Director Michael Ehrlich — made a list of deans, directors and officials.

NJIT Ranked 14th Nationwide for Online Masters in Computer Science
New Jersey Institute of Technology ranked 14th nationwide for its online master's degrees in computer science, according to the latest research from UniversityHQ.org. "While good computer science careers are available for bachelor’s degree holders looking to become computer science professionals, computer science graduate degrees open up an even stronger career path," the higher education company stated.

Rami Rashid - ECE PhD Student of the Month - April 2023
Rami Rashid is a Ph.D. candidate in the Helen and John C. Hartmann Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He is working under the advisement of Professor Abdi. He also earned his master's from ECE-NJIT in 2020, in which he received the 2020 ECE Top Performers Fellowship.

Men's Tennis Improves to 13-4 with 4-1 Win Over Army
The NJIT men's tennis team improved to 13-4 this season with a 4-1 victory over Army West Point on Sunday. "We were very happy to pull off the victory today," said Head Coach Marco Matteucci." The Black Knights took two of three doubles matches to go ahead 1-0, but NJIT rallied in singles play and won all four completed matches to earn the victory.

Jared Donnelly and the NJIT baseball team closed this weekend's three-game America East series vs. UAlbany just as they started it, with a walk-off victory over the Great Danes at Jim Hynes Stadium.

Undergrads Compete in NJIT's First Lockheed Martin Ethics in Engineering Competition
Undergraduates Nora Mahgoub ’25 and Victoria Pirog ’25 are already solving complex ethical dilemmas of today’s engineering world, and doing so on a grand stage, as the first NJIT students to compete at Lockheed Martin’s annual Ethics in Engineering Competition. Mahgoub and Pirog recently joined other two-student teams from more than 70 U.S. colleges and universities at Lockheed Martin’s fifth annual case competition, held at its Center for Leadership Excellence in Bethesda, Md., Feb. 27 through March 1.

NJIT Mathematics Professor Unveils Modeling Projections for MLB's 2023 Season
As baseball fans gear up for MLB’s Opening Day and the marathon of another 162-game season, new modeling predictions of NJIT mathematics professor Bruce Bukiet have already divined the winners and losers when the dust settles on the final day of the 2023 season in October. America’s pastime has always been a game obsessed with numbers, and Bukiet, an associate dean at NJIT’s College of Science and Liberal Arts, is no different — he has been his applying statistical models to forecast the MLB’s league standings with commendable accuracy for 25 years.

Elementary STEM Event Teaches Children About Microcontrollers and More
Teams of third, fourth and fifth-graders at New Jersey Institute of Technology's Elementary STEM Challenge went high-tech this year, aiming to solve environmental problems in their schools by using the capabilities of Micro Bit microcontrollers. The competition is in its third year, with Randolph's Fernbrook School Green Team taking home first place for their invention that detects hallway noise and alerts the principal's office when students distract their classmates by talking too loudly.

New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII), a leading provider of innovative and transformative services across the state, announced today that the New Jersey Department of Human Services (NJDHS) and New Jersey Health Information Network (NJHIN) have been granted Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicaid Enterprise System (MES) certification. NJIT Earns Silver Rating for Its Sustainability Efforts
New Jersey Institute of Technology earned a silver rating in sustainability after a year-long assessment of the university’s sustainability footprint in greenhouse gas emissions and its research, courses and community engagement related to sustainability. The assessment, from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), is based on a Sustainability, Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS) that awards points in five categories: academics, engagement, operations, planning and administration and innovation and leadership.

Princeton Review Ranks NJIT a Top 50 School to Study Game Design
New Jersey Institute of Technology has again earned a spot on The Princeton Review’s top 50 undergraduate schools for game design in the 2023 rankings. The Princeton Review chose the schools based on its 2022 survey of administrators at 150 institutions across the U.S. and abroad offering game design courses, majors, or degree programs. The survey collected information in four areas: academics, faculty, technology, and career prospects. The company analyzed more than 40 survey data points to tally the rankings.
