The NJIT Secure Computing Initiative (SCI), funded through the National Science Foundation (NSF), has selected seven high-caliber students to join the fall 2024 cohort of the elite CyberCorps® Scholarship for Service Program (SFS).

The NJIT men's soccer team earned three crucial points on Saturday afternoon as they took down UAlbany, 2-1, at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.

For the fourth straight year, NJIT made Princeton Review’s Guide to Green Colleges, joining a select group of universities and colleges in the U.S. that stand out for their green initiatives. Each is listed alphabetically. NJIT earned a green rating of 91 — high on the scale of 60 to 99 that Princeton Review uses to make its selections. The number is calculated from surveys of students and administrators on the policies, practices and programs tied to sustainability at their schools.

As part of NJIT’s Strategic Plan 2030, the university is excited to announce the launch of the Center for Educational Innovation and Excellence (CEIE), a pivotal initiative designed to enhance teaching practices and learning outcomes. The CEIE will replace the Institute for Teaching Excellence (ITE), which has long served as NJIT’s primary resource for faculty professional development in pedagogy and educational technology.

Krems, Austria — From July 15 to August 5, the city of Krems hosted an inspiring workshop entitled “Adapting Historic Public Spaces for a Digital Culture." This collaborative initiative, involving the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), the architecture network ORTE, and the AIR Lower Austria (Artist-in-Residence) program, brought together the city and community of Krems with 14 architecture students from NJIT's Hillier College of Architecture and Design.

The City of Newark, in partnership with the Latino Edification Multicultural Aid Center and the Newark Hispanic Commission, hosted its seventh annual National Hispanic Heritage Month celebration and flag raising. The celebration also included an award ceremony, honoring individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions and shown exceptional dedication to supporting and serving the Newark community.

As NJIT celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month for the first time as both a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and an R1 research university, the moment highlights more than just a designation—it represents the ongoing efforts of student leaders and organizations that work year-round to create a welcoming and thriving campus environment. The monthlong celebration is the culmination of their relentless dedication to engaging the campus community, fostering belonging, and ensuring that NJIT continues to be a place where every student can succeed.

New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) this week welcomed a delegation from Grupo Latinoamericano de Cónsules en New Jersey (GLACO) as well as city and state government leaders to explore the university and learn about its mission and initiatives, particularly in light of NJIT’s designation as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). The visit provided an opportunity for GLACO and government members to learn more about NJIT’s diverse programs, student enrollment, and commitment to supporting the Hispanic and Latine communities.
