Accenture Working with Institute for Data Science to Combat Software Supply Chain Attacks
Accenture, a leader in information consulting services, is collaborating with NJIT’s Institute for Data Science, led by Distinguished Prof. David Bader, to develop methods to mitigate risks arising in the use of open-source components in the software supply chain.

NJIT to Offer New Graduate Programs in Artificial Intelligence
NJIT’s Department of Data Science in the Ying Wu College of Computing is launching two new graduate programs in artificial intelligence during the 2023 academic year, in support of the increasing demand for qualified AI engineers and analysts to facilitate problem-solving and decision-making in the digital world of the future. The new programs will address the dramatic growth and proliferation of AI technologies into the mainstream, such as the recent debut of the ChatGPT application.

Kenna Squier Named America East Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Senior Kenna Squier has been named America East Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. In a 2-0 week for the Highlanders, Squier nearly averaged a double-double, combining for 18.0ppg, 9.0rpg and shooting an impressive 68.4% from the field (13-for-19).

Men's Tennis Improves to 4-0 with Victory Over Marist
The NJIT men's tennis team continued its hot start to the 2023 season with a 6-1 victory over visiting Marist on Sunday afternoon at the Naimoli Tennis Center. The Highlanders improved to 4-0 with the victory and are one win shy of tying the program's five-match winning streak to begin the 2021 campaign.

Researchers Discover Mysterious Source of 'Heartbeat-like' Radio Bursts in a Solar Flare
A solar radio burst with a signal pattern, akin to that of a heartbeat, has been pinpointed in the Sun’s atmosphere, according to a new study. In findings published in the journal Nature Communications, an international team of researchers has reported uncovering the source location of a radio signal coming from within a C-class solar flare more than 5,000 kilometers above the Sun’s surface.

Anushreya Ghosh - ECE PhD Student of the Month - February 2023
Anushreya Ghosh, is a 4th-year PhD student advised by Dr. Alexander Haimovich. She completed her MS here at NJIT and continued to stay on here for her PhD. She is originally from India and have been staying in the US for the last 5 years. Her research area is Wireless Communications. She works with non-cooperative radio frequency sources and use mixtures of these signals to perform Blind Source Separation. Currently, she is focused on frequency hopping sources and Direction of Arrival estimations.

Kelsey Jackson '14 Wins Common Bond Scholarship from AIA New York and the Center of Architecture
Kelsey Jackson ‘14 was recently awarded a Common Bond scholarship during the Common Bond: The Center for Architecture Gala. Jackson has been dedicated to integrating her experiences in education and architectural design to uplift historically Black cities and communities. Every year at Common Bond, the Center for Architecture provides scholarships to outstanding architecture students, chosen by area schools that have been selected by their honorees.

U.S. News & World Report Ranks NJIT Online Programs, Two in the Top 50 Nationally
Two of New Jersey Institute of Technology’s online graduate programs placed among the top 50 in this year's U.S. News & World Report rankings of American universities, with another breaking into the top 100. NJIT was ranked No. 29 for its information technology programs, a two place jump from last year; and No. 47 for engineering, a 16-place rise. In addition, NJIT’s online master’s business program was ranked No. 95, and the online MBA was No. 132. All ranked programs saw improved scores over last year, according to the publication.

NJIT Takes 3-1 Victory Over Visiting St. Francis Brooklyn
The NJIT men's volleyball team moved back into the win column, taking a 3-1 close set victory over visiting St. Francis Brooklyn in non-conference men's volleyball action inside NJIT's Wellness and Events Center Saturday afternoon. NJIT won 25-21, 24-26, 27-25 and 25-20, improving to an even 3-3 on the season while St. Francis Brooklyn moves to 3-2 on the young season.

Women's Tennis Rallies To Edge Out Cornell, 4-3
The NJIT women's tennis team closed out the first weekend of the spring campaign with a bounce back 4-3 victory over the Cornell Big Red Sunday afternoon at the Reis Tennis Center. The Highlanders (1-1) were pushed to the brink against host Cornell (0-2) after the Big Red clinched the doubles point and finished Nos. 1 and 3 singles in straight sets to take a 3-0 lead. However, NJIT showed its grit by winning the final four flights for the dramatic victory.

The latest book from NJIT’s Chaudhery Mustansar Hussain captures the dichotomy of nanotechnology: it facilitates everything from the delivery of medicine and sunblock to the development of smart phones and filtration of wastewater but also produces tiny particles that are invisible to the eye and therefore can easily be absorbed by soil or humans.
