Celebrated Architects' Historic Gift Injects New Energy into the College of Architecture and Design
New Jersey Institute of Technology has renamed its College of Architecture and Design for J. Robert and Barbara A. Hillier to reflect the globally renowned architects’ historic donation to the university. Their gift, the university’s largest ever, will enrich the architecture and design program in many ways: with scholarships that diversify the pool of talented architects entering the profession and funds for the technology that will advance it, to name just two.

Road To Victory: Young Chemists Square Off at 34th Annual New Jersey Chemistry Olympics
Engineering $200 fuel cells capable of powering windmills, designing high-performance sunblock from scratch, quantifying how much copper is used to coat a modern penny — these were among the many unusual, pressure-packed challenges that stood before 250 of New Jersey’s top high school chemists, all arriving at NJIT last week with a goal that they’d been training towards for months. Joel S. Bloom, president of New Jersey Institute of Technology, received the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor at the 34th annual ceremony on Ellis Island in New York Harbor May 11.

Track Ends Time At ASUN Outdoor Championships
The NJIT men's and women's track & field programs completed the final day of the ASUN Conference Outdoor Championships Saturday evening at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium. The men's team closed the meet in 5th place, adding 43 points to their Day 1 total to finish with 55 total points. The Highlander women scored in four events on Saturday to end the meet with a sixth-place tally of ten points.

NJIT @JerseyCity – NJIT Expands to Jersey City [TEST]
Starting fall 2019, New Jersey Institute of Technology’s (NJIT) Ying Wu College of Computing (YWCC) will offer part-time and full-time graduate-level programs in data science at a location just steps from the Exchange Place PATH station in the waterfront district of Jersey City. The new location will expand NJIT’s $2.8 billion annual impact on the state’s economy by serving New Jersey residents working in the nearby emerging tech hub of New York City.

NJIT-UNA Split Friday's Twin Bill, Stafflinger Registers Shutout, Franzoni Posts 6 RBI in Game Two
NJIT split its ASUN Conference doubleheader with North Alabama Friday with the Lions earning an 8-1 victory in game one and the Highlanders, taking the nightcap, 10-0, behind a strong pitching performance from junior RHP Tyler Stafflinger and six runs batted in from sophomore Paul Franzoni at Mike D. Lane Field.

Lewis and Cooks Earn Met Writers Basketball Honors
NJIT senior Abdul Lewis and sophomore Zach Cooks were named to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division I team for the 2018-19 season Chuck Stogel, president of the Met Writers, announced. Lewis, who concluded his collegiate career with 1,247 points and 1,000 rebounds, was named to the second team while teammate Cooks, who averaged 17.6ppg, the third highest scoring total in school-history, earned third team honors. The 86th annual Met Writers Awards banquet was held on Tuesday, April 30 at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, NY.

EOP Awards Ceremony Marks 47 Years of Student Recognition
“We saw when you came in as freshmen, and you thought you knew it all.
