Men's Fencing Ends Conference Season Undefeated; Placed Second at MACFA Championships
NJIT men's fencing ended the conference regular season undefeated and placed second at the MACFA Championships defeating the 14 teams they competed against.
Despite NJIT besting them at the championships, the Highlanders earned second place with 110 wins behind Johns Hopkins who accumulate 111 victories.

Lenny Kaplan Named 2017-18 Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year
Assistant Vice President/Director of Athletics Lenny Kaplan has been named a 2017-18 Division I-AAA Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year (ADOY) award recipient by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). Kaplan was one of 28 winners.
The Athletics Director of the Year Award highlights the efforts of athletics directors at all levels for their commitment and positive contributions to student-athletes, campuses and their surrounding communities.

Walsh, Gibbs Selected to ASUN All-Academic Team
NJIT junior Reilly Walsh and sophomore Shyquan Gibbs have been named to the 2018 ASUN All-Academic Team, as announced by conference officials Saturday. Walsh, the only member on the eight-player list with a 4.0 GPA, was also one of just four unanimous selections.
This marks the second-consecutive selection for Walsh, who became the first-ever Highlander to be selected to the ASUN All-Academic Team a season ago. It also marks a first-time selection for Gibbs, who was the 2016 Valedictorian at St. Anthony's High School in Jersey City.
NJIT Controls Destiny for Tourney Home Game
With one game remaining in the 2017-18 regular season, the NJIT men's basketball team has tons riding on its finale at USC Upstate (7-23, 2-11) on Thursday night in Spartanburg, S.C.
One thing is certain regardless of the outcome at the Hodge Center: The Highlanders (13-15, 6-7) will be playing either Jacksonville University (13-17, 7-6) or University of North Florida (13-17, 7-6) in the Quarterfinals. The biggest thing to be resolved on Thursday is at which venue the game will be played on Feb. 26.

Highlanders Post Seven Wins in Inaugural Meet in Wellness and Events Center
The NJIT men's and women's fencing teams combined for seven wins in the inaugural meet inside the new Wellness and Events Center on Sunday.
The NJIT men extended its win streak to 17 matches, hosting the MACFA B vs. C Invitational, registering wins over William & Mary (24-3), Navy (26-1), John Hopkins (17-10) and Lafayette (17-10).
The women hosted the NJIT Invitational in conjunction with the men, snapping a 13-match losing streak, posting three wins against William & Mary (19-8), Army (19-8) and Navy (22-5).
Men's and Women's Cross Country Earn Spot on NCAA DI All-Academic List
The NJIT men's and women's cross country teams were named to the NCAA Division I All-Academic team list for the 2017 season.
To be named to the list both teams needed to post at least a cumulative team GPA of 3.0.
The men's cross country team recorded a 3.13 GPA while the women's team had a 3.62 GPA.

Men's Tennis Opens Spring Campaign 3-0; Tops Visiting Fairleigh Dickinson, 6-1
The NJIT men's tennis team opened its spring campaign with a 3-0 record, topping visiting Fairleigh Dickinson, 6-1, Sunday afternoon at The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
NJIT, winners of its first three matches of the 2018 season, won five-out-of-six singles matches and earned the doubles point, with wins at second and third doubles to secure the 6-1 victory.
Women's Volleyball Adds Jabarry Goodridge as New Assistant Coach
Jabarry Goodridge, a 2017 NJIT graduate and two-time AVCA All-American selection, joined the NJIT women's volleyball coaching staff in January 2018 as an assistant coach head.
A four-year starter for the men's volleyball program, Goodridge, from Bridgetown, Barbados, compiled 1,259 kills, averaging 3.98 per set, along with 104 service aces, 366 digs, 122 blocks and 1,450 total points.
Lewis, Tarke Guide Amazing Comeback at Lipscomb
NJIT junior Abdul Lewis scored a career-high 27 points, leading the Highlanders to an 81-77, come-from-behind victory over Lipscomb at Allen Arena Saturday.
Despite the 27 points and his game-highs in rebounds (13) and assists (5), it was the last of his game-high four blocks that saved the day for the Highlanders.
NJIT (12-12, 5-4) had trailed by 10 at 77-67 with just 3:35 remaining. The Bisons (15-9, 5-4) never scored again and the Highlanders finished on a 14-0 run to secure a huge road victory.

Men's Swimming and Diving Celebrates 229-57 Win Over Monmouth on Senior Day
The NJIT men's swimming and diving program celebrated a 229-57 win over visiting Monmouth as the Highlanders' hosted its first-ever collegiate meet in the Wellness and Events Center (WEC) Natatorium on Senior Day Saturday morning.
In pregame ceremonies, NJIT honored its five graduating seniors -- Edward Mann, Jack Matusiak, Scott Quirie, Matheus Monteiro Montarroyos and Maxim Tillmann.
