Men's Lacrosse Earns First Home Program Win with 15-8 Victory Over Hampton
NJIT men's lacrosse earned their first ever home program with a 15-8 victory over Hampton on Saturday afternoon.
The Highlanders other two program wins came at Dartmouth in 2016 and at Hampton in April of last year.
Men's lacrosse celebrated Senior Day prior to the first face-off, honoring its four seniors Mark Bannon, Nick Marzullo, Ishmael Menns and Matthew Valdez.

NJIT sophomore Piotr Namiotko has been selected EIVA Offensive Player of the Week for his performance last week EIVA Coordinator Brian Snow announced.
Namiotko earns his first EIVA Offensive Player of the Week award after recording 60 kills while hitting .300 in 13 sets, averaging 4.62 kills per set.

NJIT's Justin Etts Drives in Game-Winning Run in Ninth; Highlanders Tops No. 22 FGCU
NJIT junior Justin Etts drove in the game-winning run as visiting NJIT topped No. 22 FGCU, 4-3, to conclude the three-game ASUN Conference series at Swanson Stadium Sunday afternoon.
NJIT (12-12, 2-4 ASUN) scored single runs late in the game, delivering runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth, handing FGCU (24-7, 2-1 ASUN) its first loss in ASUN Conference action.
FGCU led 3-1 heading into the seventh as the Highlanders plated single runs in the final three innings to secure the 4-3 victory.

Eight-Year-Old Gavin Brady Signs with NJIT Men's Lacrosse
Eight-year-old Gavin Brady, from Pompton Plains, became the newest addition to the NJIT men's lacrosse team roster with the help of Friends of Jaclyn Foundation held at the Wellness and Events Center Wednesday afternoon.
Friends of Jaclyn aims to improve the quality of life for children battling pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers by pairing them with local team, clubs and community groups.

NJIT Volleyball Sweeps EIVA Conference Weekly Honors
Alvaro Gimeno and Luca Berger were named Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, the EIVA Conference announced Monday afternoon.
Gimeno, the Highlanders newcomer, notches his first EIVA Offensive Player of the Week while Berger, a sophomore transfer, records his first EIVA Defensive Player of the Week award of the year.

Women's Tennis Sweeps Hofstra
The NJIT women's tennis team swept visiting Hofstra, 7-0, Saturday afternoon in The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
NJIT, which picks up its second straight win, improves to 6-5 on the season, earning the doubles point with wins at second and third doubles and sweeping the six singles contests.
"Strong win today against a solid team," head coach Zaki Abdelrahman added after his teams win. "The team has developed a lot physically and mentally which gave them the edge to win the critical moments today and even against NYIT Friday night."
Baseball Sweeps Saturday Doubleheader at Maryland Eastern Shore
NJIT baseball evened its record to 5-5 with a doubleheader sweep at Maryland Eastern Shore, 8-4, in game one and 7-0 in the nightcap behind a seven-inning complete game shutout by Tyler Stafflinger at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.
Maryland Eastern Shore took a 2-0 lead in game one after one inning. The Highlanders scored three in the third and two in the fourth for a 5-2 lead. After solo runs for the Hawks in the fourth and fifth, NJIT tacked on three runs in the top of the seventh to push ahead, 8-4, and secure the game.
Kelly Guarino Selected to 2018 ASUN Conference All-Academic Team
NJIT senior Kelly Guarino has been selected to the 2018 ASUN Conference All-Academic team. The league office announced postseason honors and awards Thursday.
This marks the first selection for Guarino, who is a business major with a concentration in marketing and minor in communications. She earned Dean's List seven-out-of-eight semesters at NJIT.
