From organizational principals to programmatic questions and spatial strategies, there are many issues that get resolved from the basis of architectural design. Associate Professor of Architecture Maria Hurtado de Mendoza explains the relationship between the conceptual approach of a project and its materiality in “Clinical: An Architecture of Variation with Repetition.”  

Students who are the first in their family to pursue higher education or come from a low-income household continue to be severely underrepresented on college campuses, despite high educational aspirations.

On the third floor of Fenster Hall, visitors can find a rich collection of landmark science and engineering artifacts that resemble a technological time capsule of the past 100 years. The iconic 1984 Apple Macintosh Plus, a 1950s suitcase-type Geiger counter, a 1954 wood-encased Seederer-Kohlbusch scale and 1947 Bausch & Lomb optical microscope — all historical scientific equipment once used at NJIT that is now being protected and displayed as part of university’s growing museum project, called the “NJIT Distributed Technology Museum.”

The NJIT men's tennis team opened its spring campaign with a 3-0 record, topping visiting Fairleigh Dickinson, 6-1, Sunday afternoon at The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility. NJIT, winners of its first three matches of the 2018 season, won five-out-of-six singles matches and earned the doubles point, with wins at second and third doubles to secure the 6-1 victory.

Mark Quiles '18, a finance and marketing major, won first place in the Newark Innovation Acceleration Challenge student competition sponsored by NJIT, Capital One and the Greater Newark Enterprises Corporation. Michael A. Ehrlich, associate professor of finance in NJIT's Martin Tuchman School of Management and co-director of the New Jersey Innovation Acceleration Center, emceed the event.  

NJIT junior Abdul Lewis scored a career-high 27 points, leading the Highlanders to an 81-77, come-from-behind victory over Lipscomb at Allen Arena Saturday. Despite the 27 points and his game-highs in rebounds (13) and assists (5), it was the last of his game-high four blocks that saved the day for the Highlanders. NJIT (12-12, 5-4) had trailed by 10 at 77-67 with just 3:35 remaining. The Bisons (15-9, 5-4) never scored again and the Highlanders finished on a 14-0 run to secure a huge road victory.
