Makerspace at NJIT, a training-focused, rapid prototyping facility, will host an event to build and assemble hand prosthetics to help children and young adults in need.

The 10,000-square-foot space operates equipment ranging from small 3D printers to large industrial machining centers, such as precision measurement and laser cutting machines.

The build-a-thon is organized by Boy Scout Troop 43 of Princeton, N.J.; AntiMatter, a supply procurement and consulting startup that bridges academic, government and private enterprises together in the additive manufacturing technologies field; E-NABLE, a charitable organization and community that prints and supplies plans for 3D printed prosthetics; and Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart.
