NJIT Researchers Aim to Build Brain-Inspired Computing Systems
Two NJIT researchers, working with collaborators from the IBM Research Zurich Laboratory and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, have demonstrated a novel synaptic architecture that could lead to a new class of information processing systems inspired by the brain.

Dr. Atam P. Dhawan, NJIT’s senior vice provost for research, received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who's Who, the nearly 120-year-old publisher of biographies, for his leadership in the fields of engineering and higher education.
The award recognizes people who have “achieved greatness” in their industry, excelling for at least 20 years.
