NJIT has appointed Dale A. McLeod as its new vice president for human resources. McLeod will join the university effective March 16 with the dual mission of delivering a world-class human resources function with a strong service orientation for faculty and staff, and supporting the objectives of the university’s new strategic plan, Building on a Strong Foundation–NJIT 2025.

New Jersey communities grappling to bring damaged properties to productive reuse will now be able to turn to NJIT experts for advice, as the university recently launched NJ Brownfields Assistance Center @ NJIT, the first of its kind center that solely serves New Jersey.

NJIT upset No. 11 Princeton in straight sets, 3-0, (30-28, 25-18, 25-22) Friday evening in EIVA men's volleyball action inside Dillion Gymnasium. NJIT (9-5 overall, 4-3 EIVA) are winners of three in a row. The history of NJIT will become more prominent around campus and online in the next couple of semesters, as a team including two students, a librarian and a historian are working to digitize and expand existing artifact displays.

What might homes of the future look like if countries were really committed to meeting global calls for sustainability, such as the recommendations advanced by the Paris Agreement and the U.N.’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development? Much wider adoption of smart design features and renewable energy for low- to zero-carbon homes is one place to start — the U.N. estimates households consume 29% of global energy and consequently contribute to 21% of resultant CO2 emissions, which will only rise as global population increases.
