Senior Thomas Manley will represent NJIT at the 2020 National Collegiate Men's Fencing Championships in the Men's Foil on March 19-22 in Detroit, Michigan.
The NCAA Men's and Women's Fencing Committee announced the 144 competitors, competing in a round-robin format of five-touch bouts. After the round-robin, the top-four finishers in each weapon will fence in semifinal 15-touch bouts, with the winners fencing to determine first and second places, and the non-advancing fencers being awarded a tie for third place.
Manely is coming off a 10th place finish at the 2020 Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Fencing Championships hosted by Duke University.
This season, Manley placed third in the men's foil at the 2020 MACFA Championships, went undefeated at the MACFA Championship and combined for a 10-5 record at the Philadelphia Invitational.
