NJIT's digital design major is the best in New Jersey for the second year in a row, according to industry website Animation Career Review. The Bachelor of Arts degree in digital design -- which has tracks for entertainment and production, as part of the School of Art+Design in the Hillier College of Architecture and Design -- also received strong marks for its standing on the East coast, nationally among public schools and nationwide overall.

Chemistry student and Albert Dorman Honors Scholar Mary McGuinness will graduate this semester and will continue her academic career as a master's student at University of Connecticut studying oceanography. Congratulations, Mary!

Researchers at New Jersey Institute of Technology in collaboration with Ohio University and Merck & Co. Inc. recently developed a new efficient method for targeted protein analysis — one they say could speed up processes for disease testing, drug discovery and vaccine development.

First-year students applying to New Jersey Institute of Technology for entry in the Fall of 2021 and Spring of 2022 can choose to not submit SAT or ACT scores. This does not apply to Albert Dorman Honors College or accelerated program applicants. “NJIT is committed to the highest standards in education, and our admissions staff members take a holistic approach in examining all components of an application including rigor of academic coursework, grades, letters of recommendation and extracurricular activities,” said Fadi P. Deek, provost and senior executive vice president.

Kamalika Sandell has been appointed as NJIT’s vice provost and chief information officer, effective July 27, Provost Fadi Deek announced in an email to the campus community. Sandell, previously deputy CIO at American University, replaces interim CIO Gregg Chottiner.

Footage of emergency room workers managing overflow crowds of gravely sick patients with deftness, humanity and visible emotion has been nightly, gut-wrenching viewing for millions of Americans over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. For senior Soojin Kim, those often-harrowing scenes prompted one thought: “I’m in.”

NJIT Community Members, The death of George Floyd has brought us to a point of inflection throughout our country, and it has done so for multiple reasons. Mr. Floyd's death was captured on video, so we have been forced to see a truth we would rather not believe. That video is both heartbreaking and infuriating. No decent person could watch the extermination of a helpless human being in such a callous manner without experiencing feelings of true anger and despair.
