NJIT Athletics recognized the contributions and accomplishments of over 350 student-athletes on its 19 varsity teams for the 2020-21 season at the Annual Athletics Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 on campus inside NJIT's Wellness and Events Center. The Athletic Sports Awards Ceremony was a fun-filled afternoon designed to honor the NJIT Highlander teams for all of their hard work on and off the field during the 2020-21 athletic year.

Logan Heft, a senior business major and NJIT volleyball player, will intern as a business intelligence specialist at Global X ETFs this summer and then head to Brown University in the fall to study for a master's degree in data science.

Senior captain Paul Franzoni's eighth inning home run, a two-run blast over the left field wall, helped push the NJIT baseball team past host Stony Brook in game two of Sunday's doubleheader at Joe Nathan Field. New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) has been ranked third in New Jersey and in the top 100 nationally in the second annual Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Ranking USA list for 2021. More than 750 institutions across the country were considered for the ranking. At No. 90, NJIT is joined by Princeton University and Rutgers-New Brunswick as the only New Jersey institutions within the top 100.

New Jersey Institute of Technology will honor the Class of 2021, in addition to August and December graduates from 2020, through in-person ceremonies on May 12 and 14, and a hybrid ceremony streamed live on May 18. A new NJIT-led project is making learning about the abstract world of organic chemistry a fresher, interactive experience that students can now easily explore in hi-res action through their digital devices. Already, it’s created quite a reaction among young chemists and their teachers around the world. The new web project, called Visualize Organic Chemistry (VOC), was launched in March by students in the research group of NJIT Assistant Professor of Chemistry Pier Alexandre Champagne.
