Growth Brings Reaccreditation to Martin Tuchman School of Management
NJIT's Martin Tuchman School of Management recently earned reaccreditation from AACSB, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
The renewed status certifies the school for another five years, as it continues to grow the student body and add new majors and research facilities.
"AACSB accreditation demonstrates that our business school, faculty qualifications, our strategic mission and vision and our technology-focused curriculum meet the highest standards," said Oya Tukel, dean of the school.
"[Reaccreditation] puts us in the top 5% of business schools in the world. The hard work of faculty and staff over the last five years made the renewal of our accreditation possible and I am very appreciative of their hard work," Tukel added.
"Every AACSB-accredited school has demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development and student learning. The intense peer-review process exemplifies their commitment to quality business education," added Stephanie Bryant, AACSB chief accreditation officer.
Tukel said that in the last five years, some of the factors helping with reaccreditation were an increase in faculty research, as 68% of faculty publications appeared in top business journals; the faculty overall receiving more than $3.2 million in grants; and student enrollment up by 25%.
She said the next five years should see an increase in the visibility of the school both locally and internationally, an effort to recruit faculty from well-known universities, and an increase in hands-on learning opportunities.
