Rakina Islam - ECE PhD Student of the Month - May 2023

Rakina Islam is finishing her first year in the PhD program in Electrical Engineering at the Helen and John C. Hartmann Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Her current research focuses on developing Lead (Pb) based Colloidal Quantum Dots (CQDs) for the use in the development of novel electrically pumped lasers. She is currently co-advised by Dr. Leonid Tsybeskov and Dr. Dong-Kyun Ko.

Rami Rashid - ECE PhD Student of the Month - April 2023

Rami Rashid is a Ph.D. candidate in the Helen and John C. Hartmann Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He is working under the advisement of Professor Abdi. He also earned his master's from ECE-NJIT in 2020, in which he received the 2020 ECE Top Performers Fellowship.

NJIT Names John Pelesko Provost and SVP for Academic Affairs

New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) has selected John Pelesko to serve as its next provost and senior vice president for academic affairs after a nationwide search. Pelesko, currently the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Delaware (UD), will start on Aug. 1.
