For the sixth time in program history (2012, 2014-16, 2019, 2020), the NJIT women's soccer team has been honored by the United Soccer Coaches (USC) with its annual Team Academic Award.
The Highlanders were one of 889 total college teams (556 women, 333 men) to earn Team Academic Award accolades. With the men's team also receiving Team Academic Award honors, NJIT was one of 172 schools who had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
As a team, NJIT recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.60 for the 2019-20 academic year.
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2019-20 academic year.
