Princeton Review Ranks NJIT a Top 50 School to Study Game Design
Tuesday, March 13, 2018
NJIT has earned a No. 33 ranking on The Princeton Review's just-released list saluting the top 50 undergraduate schools for game design for 2018. The Princeton Review chose the schools based on its 2017 survey of 150 institutions in the U.S., Canada and abroad offering game design degree programs or courses. The 40-question survey gathered data on everything from the schools' game design academic offerings and lab facilities to their graduates’ starting salaries and career achievements. More than 40 data points in four areas (academics, faculty, technology and career) were analyzed to...

Building Trading Analytics Solutions: Jordan Hu '89
Monday, February 5, 2018
Jordan Hu ’89 never imagined that one day he could start a company in the U.S., especially on Wall Street, but after he worked at Salomon Brothers and Goldman Sachs for almost 10 years, he started to see entrepreneurship opportunities. However, due to risk and financial responsibilities at home, he never made up his mind to do it until Salomon Brothers shut down its arbitrage trading desk, which was the group where he was working. “It forced me to rethink the possibility of starting my own company,” Hu recalled. “I really appreciated many of my co-workers’ encouragement and help at the...

Monday, February 5, 2018
Interning at PSE&G has proven both professionally and financially fruitful for NJIT senior Aidan McGourty. Not only did his experience segue into a co-op for the 2017-2018 academic year — and garner him accolades from his supervisor — it also contributed to him winning a $500 NJIT scholarship in a Career Development Services (CDS) contest. The business and information systems major spent this past summer serving as an intern in the electric company’s Customer Technology Department. McGourty was on a 14-member team focused on testing the navigation, functionality, cosmetic appeal...
Computing Students Develop App to Enhance NJIT Parking Experience
Thursday, February 1, 2018
Ah, the struggles of commuter life. You know, the time-consuming process of gassing up the car, hitting the road and battling rush-hour traffic, only to reach your destination and have to hunt for parking. We’ve all been there. A recent study revealed that motorists waste about 100 hours a year looking for a parking space, which accounts for one-third of city traffic. What’s more, the excess vehicle miles traveled in search of parking has a widespread impact on the environment and increases driver frustration. Students in Ying Wu College of Computing (YWCC) have developed an app...
