NJIT Tops NJBIZ Reader Ranking for Third Consecutive Year
New Jersey Institute of Technology has been named a top company in NJBIZ Magazine’s annual reader ranking surveys in the “Life Sciences” and “Business Incubator” categories.
The annual ranking by the business journal surveys its readership to nominate and vote for companies in over 50 different categories that include banking and finance, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, and corporate philanthropy.
For the “Life Sciences” category, NJIT can point to its sustained efforts in the research and development of the cross-disciplinary field with a particular focus on biotechnology, biosensors and medical devices and nanotechnology.
NJIT has also embedded itself as one of New Jersey’s leading business incubators in both entrepreneurial leadership through VentureLink @ NJIT, and in industry partnership highlighted by the recent launch of BioCentriq, a cell and gene therapy manufacturing center, under NJIT’s New Jersey Innovation Institute.
“BioCentriq’s mission is to bring together industry, technology developers, academia and regulatory agencies to help advance the development and manufacturing of cell and gene therapies,” said Haro Hartounian, senior VP and general manager of BioCentriq. “We are thrilled to open the doors to our center at a time when demand for process development and clinical manufacturing of cell and gene therapies exceeds capacity available from existing contract development and manufacturing organizations.”
