NJIT President-Elect Teik Lim to Discuss Innovation at NAI Meeting
New Jersey Institute of Technology President-Elect Teik C. Lim will talk about innovation at the next annual meeting of the National Academy of Inventors.
Lim, who'll begin his NJIT presidency on July 1, is participating in a Presidents’ Panel on “innovation in university culture, innovating for future generations and the role of invention in promotion and tenure,” as described by NAI.
The June 14-15 conference, “Defining the Future: Inventing for Tomorrow,” will take place in Phoenix and be livestreamed on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/4tdPaW0fGyY.
Before NJIT, Lim served as interim president at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he also served as provost and a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Lim successfully guided UTA through the COVID-19 pandemic while driving increases in student success metrics, including degree attainment, population diversity and graduation rates.
Before UTA, Dr. Lim spent 15 years at the University of Cincinnati, where he served as dean of engineering and applied science and founded the UC Simulation Center in collaboration with Procter & Gamble, which became one of the largest interdisciplinary university-industry research centers on campus. Lim holds a Ph.D., master’s and bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and numerous patents. He’s also a fellow of the NAI, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Society of Automotive Engineers International.
