NJIT Launches New Career-Prep Bootcamps in UI/UX Design, Full-Stack Development and Data Science
New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is extending its partnership with HackerU to launch three additional career-prep bootcamps in UI/UX Design, Full-Stack Development, and Data Science and Analytics. These accelerated, non-credit training programs are designed to meet the needs of working professionals, offering flexible weekend and evening course schedules.
“At New Jersey Institute of Technology, we pride ourselves on our longstanding commitment to providing exceptional learning experiences for our students,” said Deirdre Letson-Christofalo, vice president of Professional and Corporate Education. “By expanding our partnership with HackerU to launch the UI/UX Design Bootcamp, Full-Stack Development Professional Bootcamp, and Data Science and Analytics Bootcamp, we’re furthering this commitment to our students, giving them additional tools and training opportunities needed to find success in a digital career path.”
The NJIT UI/UX Design Bootcamp prepares learners of all backgrounds and experience levels with the fundamental knowledge, tools, and skills needed to build a successful career as a designer. The curriculum exposes students to industry-leading design tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, teaches how to design an end-to-end project with optimal user interfaces, and simulates a real-world experience in the workplace, showing learners how various teams work together to design a product from concept to prototype. Learners finish the program with a robust project portfolio that can be utilized to demonstrate their design knowledge to future employers or potential clientele.
The NJIT Full-Stack Development Professional Bootcamp integrates real-world projects and training exercises with engineering theory, transforming learners into adaptable and self-reliant full-stack developers. Students take part in a multitude of skill-building projects and have access to virtual labs that teach them how to create optimal user experiences through client and server-side development best practices. The program includes up to 100 asynchronous content hours, three experiential training projects, and three dedicated test preparation sessions for globally recognized certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, and Microsoft Azure Engineer.
“The demand for software developers is high, and companies are eager to keep up with the latest technologies and methodologies in this field,” said Craig Gotsman, dean of NJIT’s Ying Wu College of Computing. “As the largest college of computing in the New York metro region, we provide students with quality academic education and professional training to jumpstart new careers in the tech sector, meeting the demand of an industry hungry for skilled workers.”
The NJIT Data Science and Analytics Bootcamp integrates real-world projects and training exercises in data storytelling, data analysis, and data science to provide the practical experiences, tools, and insights learners need to succeed as a data professional. Learners complete three experiential training projects in data visualization, query, and machine learning for their professional portfolio, and have access to three dedicated sessions to prepare for renowned cloud and data certifications that can help them advance in their careers.
“HackerU is proud to extend our partnership with NJIT to provide additional educational opportunities for New Jersey citizens,” said Dan Vigdor, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of HackerU. “Full-stack development, data science and analytics, and UI/UX design are some of the most in-demand digital skills industries that are constantly searching for qualified professionals, and we’re looking forward to helping fulfill that need within the New Jersey community.”
All three programs are held in live, virtual classroom environments, taught by industry experts, and offer in-depth career development support including resume writing, LinkedIn profile building, interview coaching, and job placement assistance. Asynchronous career content is also available throughout the program, which includes how-to videos, activities, and templatized messaging. Upon completion, learners can earn UI/UX Design, Full-Stack Development, and Data Science and Analytics certificates through the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
“These programs are a great opportunity for learners eager to gain the technical skills and career support necessary to break into New Jersey’s rising tech scene,” said Ayal Stern, CEO of HackerUSA. “We’re living in a unique time where the shift to digital is happening so rapidly, it’s difficult for most companies to keep up. Program participants can really leverage the knowledge they’ll gain from these bootcamps to grow their skills, fulfill a need for digitally skilled professionals in their community, and take their careers to new heights.”
