Invitation to Watch the Scholar Presentation Ceremony – Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program
The Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program prepares eligible students for doctoral study through a series of activities designed to increase motivation, knowledge and experience and to improve skills needed for doctoral study. Each year ten participants are selected to participate in the intensive McNair Summer Research Institute Program.
Running remotely for eight-weeks, the scholars worked hard to carry out their research projects with literature review, data analysis and simulation. As the program comes to a conclusion, we invite you to join us from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Thursday, July 23, to hear the scholars present their research projects virtually via WebEx. Humanities Department Staffer Wins American Craft Week Award – College of Science and Liberal Arts
Vanessa Velez, assistant to the chair of NJIT’s humanities department, has been recognized for her artwork as part of the American Craft Week showcase, “Art Therapy in the Time of COVID-19.” Velez’s work incorporates Sashiko, a form of decorative reinforcement stitching from Japan.
The annual American Craft Week is “the nation’s largest celebration of handmade American craft.” The national judging committee “looked for impressive craftsmanship and design excellence” along with “an artist’s statement that solidly related their work to the COVID-19 theme.” This year’s contest drew a record-breaking number of submissions.

Summer 2020 Student Incubator Showcase – VentureLink@NJIT
Join us as we celebrate final presentations in VentureLink@NJIT’s first virtual startup program showcase at 3 p.m. on July 30! The 8-week program coaches NJIT students and recent graduates on how to evaluate and grow their very early-stage startups. Our focus is on the strong foundations, practical knowledge, and mentorship that have been proven to help startups succeed.
We’re culminating with a virtual showcase where each startup will pitch their company and answer audience questions. All are welcome to attend the livestream event.
