Here you will find a weekly listing of updates and announcements for members of the NJIT campus community. Faculty and Staff
Road Closure and Traffic Advisory for Dec. 7 and 8 — NJIT Office of Public Safety
Please be advised that due to a film production occurring in the City of Newark, the following streets will be closed from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020:
- Raymond Boulevard between University Avenue and Broad Street
- Market Street between University Avenue and Mulberry Street
- Washington Street between Williams Street and Warren Street
- Halsey Street between Warren Street and Market Street
- Academy Street between Broad Street and University Avenue
Also, no parking signs are posted and will be in effect on both days at the following locations:
3 a.m. to 10 p.m. - Monday, December 7, 2020 (No Parking)
- Park Place between Raymond Boulevard and Center Street
- E. Park Place between Park Place and Mulberry Street
- Halsey Street between Washington Place and Bleeker Street
3 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Tuesday, December 8, 2020 (No Parking)
- Halsey Street between Cedar Street and Market Street
- Washington Street between Market Street and Raymond Boulevard
- Academy Street between Broad Street and University Avenue
- Bank Street between Halsey Street and University Avenue
Drivers are urged to plan for anticipated delays and to plan alternate routes. The NJIT Police Department will monitor traffic patterns and assist if necessary to ensure traffic flow in and around the NJIT campus.
Students
New Library Hours Through Remainder of Fall Semester— Van Houten Library
Starting Dec. 7, the Van Houten Library will be open until midnight Monday through Thursday for the rest of the semester. The hours of operation through the month of December will be Monday-Thursday: 8:30 a.m.–midnight, Friday: 8:30 a.m.–6 p.m., Saturday: 10 a.m.–6 p.m., Sunday: 1 p.m.–9 p.m. The library will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 22-23, and will be closed Dec. 24–Jan. 3.
