NJIT Athletics Partners with Opendorse for NIL Platform
NJIT Athletics is proud to announce it has partnered with Opendorse, the leading athlete marketplace and NIL company, to create an all-in-one Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) platform for Highlander student-athletes.
Through the official NJIT Athletics NIL Marketplace, brands, fans, sponsors and donors within #HighlanderNation and beyond can browse, book, pitch and pay any Highlander student-athlete for NIL activities in one compliant platform, built specifically for the athletes' needs.
The marketplace is aimed at mobilizing the #HighlanderNation fan base and local organizations to best support the NJIT student-athlete experience.
"We are excited to be partnering with Opendorse as the NIL platform for our student-athletes here at NJIT," said Associate Vice President / Director of Athletics Lenny Kaplan. "The NCAA is ever evolving, and it will continue to do so. Just as we support our students with top notch facilities, career guidance, mental and physical wellness and the ability for the student-athletes to learn how to grow, promote and earn money from their personal brand is just the next step. I am excited for the next steps."
Opendorse, which has partnered with over 100 college athletic departments, not only maximizes NIL opportunities for student-athletes, but also delivers security and simplicity for all involved parties. Student-athletes review opportunities, receive deals, accept compensation and disclose NIL activities to their institution, all within the Opendorse platform. Through the partnership, student-athletes can also receive in-person and on-demand virtual education sessions from industry leaders at companies including Meta, Overtime, Players' Tribune, Opendorse and more.
"It's exciting to see the Highlanders leaning in and embracing NIL," said Blake Lawrence, Opendorse Co-Founder and President of Collegiate Operations. "Through educational resources, operational tools and the NJIT Athletics NIL Marketplace to engage with supporters, Highlanders student-athletes and staff are well-positioned to thrive in the new era of college athletics."
The Opendorse-powered marketplace is built on a decade of athlete marketing technology and experience. The company has already facilitated hundreds of thousands of NIL deals and endorsements with athletes at every level of sports, and the marketplace is used by over 130,000 athletes to manage deals from pitch to payment.
