Former NJIT men's volleyball standout Alvaro Gimeno announced on Wednesday, June 23 that he has signed a contract to play professional volleyball for Rio Duero Soria volleyball club in Spain.

The NJIT men's swimming and diving program was once again honored by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as one of the 426 overall institutions and 110 Division I men's programs to earn Scholar All-America team honors for the spring semester.

New Jersey Institute of Technology has accepted an invitation from the Southland Conference and will join the NCAA Division I league as an associate member in the sports of men's and women's tennis, effective for the 2021-22 academic year. The NJIT baseball program added to its historic, record-breaking season on Wednesday when seniors Jake Rappaport and Julio Marcano were named the program's first ABCA All-Region honorees since the Highlanders moved to Division I prior to the 2007 season.

NJIT executives officially broke ground yesterday for the new residence hall on Warren Street, scheduled to open in the fall 2022 semester at the site of a former Newark elementary school. Amenities will include private kitchens, bicycle storage, a parking garage, creative space, indoor and outdoor cafes, game room and a grass courtyard. It will be constructed with a focus on environmentally-friendly methods and materials.
