Already ranked nationwide as a “Best Institution for Veterans” by College Factual, a leading source of higher education analytics and insights, NJIT has just unveiled a new veterans’ lounge to support military members in the NJIT community.
The new lounge features computers with CAC card readers, a color printer, refrigerator, microwave, television and lockers. It also has a private office within the space for one-on-one sessions with members of the Department of Veterans Affairs, counselors or employers.
“This space was truly a collaboration across many areas of the University who all came together to make a space and show appreciation for our military-affiliated students,” said Lynn Pawlowski, manager of military and veteran affairs.
Last month, NJIT was recognized in the top ten percentile for the second straight year by College Factual. The rankings considered factors including: veteran affordability, veteran population, veteran policies, veteran resources, veteran satisfaction and overall college quality. For the third straight year, College Factual ranks NJIT as No. 1 in the nation for computer information systems programs and civil engineering programs for veterans.
“Opening this new lounge is yet another example of NJIT’s dedication to our military community, and will provide these students with resources to support their academic endeavours,” said Pawlowski.
