College Freshman Orientation covers a lot in a short amount of time, but above all, it serves as a transition into a new phase in a college student’s life.
Over the past few weeks, NJIT has been hosting New Student Orientations for so new students can meet advisors, learn about the resources on campus, explore the campus, and make new friends. These groups of freshman are guided by the NSO Peer Leader Team, who are there to help incoming students through every step of the way.
Along with lectures, group talks and campus tours, new freshman participated in icebreakers like Ninja and Extreme Rock, Paper, Scissors. This gave an opportunity for them to get to know each other and have fun!
Patrick Sansone, an incoming freshman in the Ying Wu College of Computing, isn’t too far from his hometown in Essex Fells, NJ. He remarked that it it was NJIT’s successful computer science program that drew him to enroll. He wants to combine his two big interests, computer science and nutrition, and feels that he could have success doing so at NJIT.
