Haro Hartounian, Ph.D., Featured by ROI-NJ in 2021 List of Health Care Influencers
Dr. Haro Hartounian, SVP and general manager of BioCentriq, was recognized as a Sector Star in ROI-NJ's annual list of influencers in the health care industry.
ROI-NJ wrote, “With all the news about research that is coming to the state, don’t forget about BioCentriq, a concept-to-clinic contract development manufacturing organization housed at New Jersey Innovation Institute on the campus of New Jersey Institute of Technology. The company is doing cutting-edge cell and gene therapy development that could be a leader in finding cures — and attracting more bio companies to the state.”
This year's list featured 20 top honorees with the behavioral health community recognized as the number one honoree. ROI-NJ wrote, “The behavioral health impact of the pandemic will last for at least a generation. There is no miracle vaccine that can be produced in months. It will be a long, slow process — felt with many ups and downs. For that reason, the 2021 ROI Influencers: Health Care list has selected all those who work in behavioral health as No. 1 on our annual ranking.”
In addition to their top 20 honorees, ROI-NJ recognized more than 25 Hospital Heroes and 36 Sector Stars from industry sectors such as biotech, life sciences, payers, physician groups, industry associations and more.
BioCentriq was founded by the New Jersey Innovation Institute in 2019 and opened the doors to its clinical manufacturing facility on the campus of NJIT in October 2020. There are now close to 30 employees working on cell and gene therapy process development and clinical manufacturing projects as well as workforce development programs run by this emerging CDMO.
Also included on the ROI-NJ’s 2021 list of Health Care Industry Influencers are New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII) board members Debbie Hart, CEO of BioNJ and Dean Paranicas, CEO of the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey.
