Women's Tennis Stays Hot, Beats Hofstra For Fifth Straight
The NJIT women's tennis team extended its winning streak to five matches with a 6-1 victory over the Hofstra Pride Sunday evening at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
"The ladies played well against another tough opponent in Hofstra today. We had two out of three three-set matches go our way and collectively we continue to play with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic," said head coach Patricia Piorkowski McDonald following the win.
NJIT was able to rally from down a flight to earn the doubles point and built a 4-0 overall lead with wins at Nos. 4, 3 and 1 singles.
Hofstra snapped the Highlanders' run with a victory at No. 5 but NJIT would close out the match by taking the final two flights at Nos. 2 and 6.
