NJIT women's soccer head coach Ally Nick has announced the Highlanders' 2026 schedule, a 16-match slate highlighted by a road contest against perennial national power North Carolina.

"Our 2026 schedule was built with the future of our program in mind," said Nick. "After graduating several key players from last year's team, we knew we would have a number of new players stepping into important roles. We intentionally scheduled opponents that will challenge us and put our team in pressure situations because America East Conference matches are highly competitive. We want our players to experience those moments early and be prepared when conference play begins."

The Highlanders will open the 2026 campaign at home on August 16, welcoming Rider to Newark.

NJIT then heads on the road for back-to-back matches at UMass (Aug. 20) and Lehigh (Aug. 23). The Highlanders earned a 3-0 shutout victory over UMass in Newark last season.

The team returns home to host Drexel on Aug. 30 before traveling to Wagner on Sept. 3. NJIT will host Monmouth on Sept. 6. The Hawks are coming off a 10-win campaign in 2025.

The Highlanders continue their road swing with a visit to LIU on Sept. 10 before traveling to face first-time opponent North Carolina on Sept. 13. The Tar Heels advanced to the third round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament and finished the season with 13 victories.

"The highlight of our non-conference schedule is the opportunity to play at the University of North Carolina," Nick added. "We are grateful for the chance to compete against one of the top programs in the country, and we know that experience will help us prepare for conference play."

NJIT opens America East Conference action at home against New Hampshire on Sept. 20.

Following the conference opener, the Highlanders play three of their next four matches on the road, traveling to UAlbany (Sept. 27), Bryant (Oct. 4) and defending America East champion Maine (Oct. 11). The lone home contest during that stretch is against UMBC on Oct. 1.

NJIT wraps up its conference road schedule with trips to Vermont on Oct. 18 and Binghamton on Oct. 22 before closing the regular season at home against UMass Lowell on Oct. 25.

The 2026 America East Championship begins with quarterfinal action on Nov. 5, followed by the semifinals on Nov. 8 and the championship match on Nov. 15.

"I'm excited to see our returning players come back with determination and our incoming class bring fresh energy," Nick said. "We can't wait to get started."
