Veterans Day Message from President Lim

Dear Highlanders,
Today, as we observe Veterans Day, I want to thank the many NJIT community members who are veterans of, or currently serve in, the United States Armed Forces for their service to our nation.
Thousands of our graduates and hundreds of our current students, as well as many faculty and staff, have served in the military, and NJIT has tremendous appreciation for those in the Armed Forces. Our university also has deep and meaningful connections to the United States military. We have been home to Air Force ROTC Detachment 490 since 1949. That unit has been training and commissioning new leaders as 2nd Lieutenants for the United States Air Force for almost 75 years.
NJIT also has an extensive history of partnership with the military through research and technological innovation related to issues of national defense, security, resource management/resiliency, logistics and supply chain management, as well as personnel safety and wellness.
It is with tremendous respect and admiration that we thank our veterans for their service to our nation and for the many sacrifices that they and their loved ones have made for all of us. Thank you!
Sincerely,
NJIT President Teik C. Lim
