ROI-NJ Features NJIT Leaders in Technology Influencer List
Business publication ROI-NJ included several NJIT executives and faculty among its annual list of New Jersey's top technology influencers.
"Innovating: If your company isn’t doing it, it probably will not be around for very long," the publication stated. "Our goal was to select those who are having the most impact in the technology and innovation sectors. … We’re overwhelmed with the quality of honorees on the list — and humbled to know that there are many others out there deserving of the recognition."
The editors selected President Joel S. Bloom as the fourth-most influential technologist in the Garden State, noting that the retiring leader created "a legacy of excellence that will be hard to match at NJIT or anywhere in the state."
That legacy extends to NJIT's teaching, administration and business decisions, with people representing these categories and more making the list this year.
Distinguished Professors David Bader and Rajesh Davé were cited for their research in data science and next-generation medicine. Simon Nynens, the leader of NJIT's New Jersey Innovation Institute, and Paul Profeta, a major university benefactor, were also in the Thought Leaders & Academics category.
Robert Cohen, who chairs the NJIT Board of Trustees and is president of the Stryker Corp. robotics division, earned accolades in the Executives category, as did Board of Trustee member Dhiraj Shah, founder of Avaap, in the Founders category.
ROI-NJ's report also includes Tom Wisniewski, of Newark Venture Partners and member of NJII’s board of directors, in the Investors category.
