MEDIA ADVISORY: Ribbon-Cutting Event at NJIT@JerseyCity
WHAT: New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Ying Wu College of Computing (YWCC) will host a ribbon-cutting event to mark the opening of its new location just steps from the Exchange Place PATH station in the Waterfront district of Jersey City.
NJIT@JerseyCity welcomed its first students this fall. The location offers graduate programs in data science, including a master’s degree as well as graduate certificates in big data and data mining, with plans to add a graduate certificate in data visualization and noncredit data science accelerator programs this spring.
Jersey City was chosen for NJIT’s new location because of the strong demand for data scientists in Hudson County and the emerging tech hub of New York City.
NJIT’s President Joel S. Bloom, Provost Fadi P. Deek and YWCC Dean Craig Gotsman will be on hand for the ceremonial opening and to answer questions.
WHEN: 4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5
WHERE: 101 Hudson Street, Suite 3610
