Prof. Goldman's Award Winning Photography Comes Full Circle
Professor Glenn Goldman is known for his many talents as an educator and innovator, and for his many contributions to the School of Art + Design. Another wonderful talent and powerful expression is visible in his award winning photography featured in this year's AIA West Jersey calendar.
“I try with my photographs to look at our built environment through the lens of an architect, designer and composer to show aspects of buildings that may not be noticed by a casual observer. It is all about ways of looking at things, even the winning image, with the cool colors in the courtyard and warm colors in the foreground, it's the juxtaposition of the colors in the space that made that view special to me.
I got my first SLR camera when I graduated highschool, when photography was different. Now it is about collecting data and manipulating data. You need to do it with the eye of an architect to understand the details of the building and you still need a broader designers perspective when it comes to color and composition. Photography really combines everything I have been doing my entire professional life. It closes the circle for me.”
