Book Discussion with Prof. John Cays — Hillier College of Architecture and Design
For students and faculty interested in understanding and addressing the impact of design and the built environment on the natural environment, author John Cays, associate dean of academic affairs and interim dean of the School of Art + Design, provides an in-depth review of life cycle assessment (LCA) methods and tools that can provide a clearer picture of how to optimize individual designs do less harm and promote healing in our ecosystem. An Environmental Life Cycle Approach to Design: LCA for Designers and the Design Market book discussion will be held at 12 p.m. on Feb. 10 via Webex. The book is available at the Littman Library.

Leir Research Institute (LRI) Weekly Seminar Series — Martin Tuchman School of Management
From 1–2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, the LRI hosts a discussion of “A Real Options Approach to Evaluating Ergonomics Projects to Reduce MSDs in the Workplace.” Co-authored by Cheickna Sylla of NJIT and Bay Arinze of Drexel University, this research proposes a superior model for valuing ergonomics projects that address musculoskeletal disorders (MSD).
