El Fallaki Breaks Three Records In Debut, Highlanders Earn First Place Finish At NJIT Invitational

Ilias El Fallaki broke three records in his collegiate debut as the Highlanders earned a first-place finish at the NJIT Invitational this weekend at the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness & Events Center (WEC).
El Fallaki set two school records, including the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:32.82) and the 1,650-yard freestyle (15:44.05). His 1,650-yard freestyle time also established the pool record. The Highlanders secured the top four times in the 1,650-yard freestyle, with Adam Mekrami finishing second (16:01.68), followed by Keegan Wooding in third (16:27.29) and Oxford Bayley in fourth (16:35.57).
NJIT started strong, as Borys Endle won the 400-yard individual medley by seven seconds, posting a time of 4:06.33. El Fallaki also won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:39.85. Sam Deemer rounded out the morning session with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke, recording a time of 53.07.
Endle secured his second event win of the day with the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 2:07.14. Pawel Drzymala won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:53.96.
NJIT led the pack with 1,289.5 points, followed by Howard (1,080.5) and Saint Peter's (431).

NJIT will compete in the Alumni Meet on Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. at the WEC.
