NJIT Recognizes Martin Luther King Jr. Day
NJIT Community Members,
As we prepare to begin a new semester that will be filled with dreams and opportunities, we also celebrate and honor the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who devoted his life to overcoming challenges and creating equal opportunities for everyone. Today we recognize Dr. King’s immense contributions to the advancement of civil rights and equality in our country. This is a day when each of us should reflect upon Dr. King’s legacy and commit to the work that remains to be done to assure equality and advancement for all.
I encourage each of us to make the most of our opportunities throughout this new semester to lift one another up, to work collaboratively, and to strive to make life better for others. NJIT is a community of talented and diverse individuals built upon a foundation of respect and appreciation for one another. By embracing the lessons taught by Dr. King and applying them to what we do each day, we can positively impact our community and our world.
Let us each be an example of the ideals that Dr. King fought so hard to advance and which are so evident throughout the NJIT community.
