Track and Field Wins Five Medals as America East Outdoors Comes to a Close

The America East Outdoor Championships ended for the NJIT track and field teams on Sunday evening with the Highlanders completing the meet earning several individual medals.
HIGHLANDER MEDALS
- Jacob Leigh and Thomas Van Saders earned the highest individual medals of any Highlander at the Outdoor Championships. Leigh took silver in the 400 meters with a time of 47.37 (8 pts) that snapped the nine-year school record of NJIT great John Porteous (2014, 47.45) and Van Saders was second in the 110 hurdles with a near-record mark of 14.71 (8 pts)
- Leigh added a relay silver in the 4x400 Relay alongside Elisha Bugasch, Matthew Bacchi and Lossenie Fofana after logging a time of 3:14.49 (8 pts)
- Jaden Johnson earned a bronze in the triple jump with a 14.73m / 48-4.00 (6 pts).
- Maddie Stevens earned the best medal for the Highlander women with a bronze in the 400 meters with a mark of 55.60 (6 pts).
