Kenna Squier Named America East Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Senior Kenna Squier has been named America East Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
In a 2-0 week for the Highlanders, Squier nearly averaged a double-double, combining for 18.0ppg, 9.0rpg and shooting an impressive 68.4% from the field (13-for-19).
Squier recorded 14 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals in the Highlanders road win at New Hampshire on February 1 to sweep the regular season series from the Wildcats.
On Saturday, Squier registered her third career double-double, netting a game-best 22 points (two shy her career-high), 10 rebounds (one-shy her personal-best mark) and shot 7-for-10 from the field in NJIT's 68-50 home victory over UMass Lowell.
Squier, an America East Conference third-team selection a year ago, picked up her first Player of the Week honor this season and second of her career.
NJIT will look to even the season series with UMBC on Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. inside the Wellness and Events Center. UMBC sank a three-pointer with :04 left in regulation to earn a 61-60 victory over visiting NJIT Jan. 25 in Baltimore, Maryland.
