NJIT has scored a place on U.S. News and World Report’s 2018 Best Global Universities list, joining Princeton and Rutgers Universities as the only schools in New Jersey to be included.

While U.S. News’ Best Colleges list looks at U.S.-based undergraduate institutions and focuses on overall quality and student outcomes, the publication’s Best Global Universities ranking considers criteria with a greater emphasis on international research. NJIT, cited among the 1,250 top global universities, is also one of the top U.S. polytechnic public universities in research expenditures, exceeding $140 million.

Of the 74 countries represented on the Best Global Universities list, the U.S. came in first with 221 schools.
