NJIT Makes Global List in QS Subject Rankings
New Jersey Institute of Technology has been ranked in three subject areas in the 2021 QS World University Rankings By Subject list, marking the third year in a row NJIT has earned a spot on the global ranking.
The full 2021 rankings — published by Quacquarelli Symonds, an organization specializing in education — can be found at topuniversities.com. The QS rankings are based on academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per paper, and a citation impact index calculation.
QS analyzed 1453 institutions across 51 subjects in five subject areas, resulting in nearly 17,000 published entries for the rankings file.
NJIT placed in the top 100 of universities nationwide in computer science and information systems, electrical engineering, and — for the first time — mathematics. Provost and Senior Executive Vice President Fadi P. Deek said NJIT’s positive results reflect NJIT’s sustained commitment to quality teaching, applied impactful research, economic development and community engagement.
“This ranking is a testament to the outstanding work of our faculty and students, and provides another example of NJIT’s upward trajectory,” said Deek. “We are proud to be considered amongst the nation’s best.”
