WHAT: New Jersey Institute of Technology will award more than 3,100 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees at its 106th commencement. The university also will award three honorary degrees and welcome several speakers.
WHEN:Tuesday, May 17, beginning at 8:40 a.m.
WHERE: Prudential Center in Newark. The ceremony will also be livestreamed at njit.edu.

NJIT President Joel S. Bloom and Provost Fadi P. Deek will lead the ceremony.
Commencement Address and Honorary Degrees: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute President Shirley Ann Jackson will deliver the commencement address and receive an honorary doctorate of science. Also receiving honorary doctorates of science are two alumni: Stephen DePalma ’72, the former CEO of engineering firm Schoor DePalma who served on NJIT’s Board of Trustees for 17 years, the last seven as chair, and Paul Sarlo ’92 ’95, the deputy majority leader of the New Jersey Senate and mayor of Wood-Ridge.
Student Speaker: Anuja Badeti, an Albert Dorman Honors Scholar who majored in computer science and served as president of the Student Senate
